The launch of new Australian sustainable travel brand Wander’s first experience has us pulling out our suitcases in keen anticipation.

The brand’s first location is in Queensland’s Magnificent Scenic Rim. Titled ‘Wander at The Overflow 1895’, the experience is set in private bushland along the shores of Lake Wyaralong and overlooking a winery, in luxury, design-led eco-accommodation less than 1.5 hours’ drive from Brisbane or Gold Coast airports.

The weekend stay offers immersive nature-based experiences curated by locals that take in the stunning mountains of the ancient volcanic caldera of the Scenic Rim, awe-inspiring views, waterfalls, grasslands and wildlife. Think farm-to-table food sampling, yoga, meditation, massage, bespoke walks, and, of course, wine.

Floor-to-ceiling glass gives visitors a spectacular view of the surrounds.

The company promises sustainable luxury and simplicity in your own private one or two-bedroom pods that have a ‘light environmental touch’. The pods are prefabricated to a high standard of energy efficiency, they’re off-grid, and they feature rain water harvesting and greywater recycling. There is no concrete, and there is plenty of composting.

The pods are also seriously comfy and insta-worthy, with their pillow-top king beds and organic linen, floor to ceiling glass and open plan dining and lounge area.

After months of virtual travel experiences, we can’t wait for Wander to release more of its immersive sustainable Australian experiences.
