Rumours abound Anna was holding out because everyone assumed Anna doesn’t really love Kim, and she was only invited to last year’s Met Gala because of Kanye.
Yet here it is. The April cover of US Vogue in all its glory. Kim looking beautiful in a Lanvin gown while Kanye cuddles his girl. Cute? Or not.
Not, according to fashion critics at many a fashion blog and the internet. I’ve never seen such debate about a cover!
The powers that be at Conde Naste sure kept it a great secret because nobody knew about this. For once there were no internet leaks, no whispers amongst interns to let this out.
There’s been so much talk since it came out that Anna Wintour has even released a statement explaining why she did it.
“Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it,” Wintour, 64, wrote. “I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or perhaps that should be to a K?)”
“As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiance on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort,” she explained. “The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn’t true.”
So there you have it. Like it or not, we’re talking about it. And isn’t that the point of a magazine cover?

So…..here we have the ( supposedly ) most influential fashion bible of all time, the last bastion of high fashion and class. The cover is a revered spot usually reserved for the most super of supermodels. Anna decides to now and again put non-models ( mainly actresses ) on the cover and its an honour to be picked. There are many actresses out in the world doing all sorts of cool things and looking beautiful whilst doing it ( Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Cate Blanchet, Kate Winslet ) all beautiful, smart, educated, stylish women who many look up to. Yet – who does she pick? A short dumpy reality star known mainly for her sex tape and huge arse and a rapper with an ego the size of the American deficit. Both represent everything that is wrong with the world today, greed, utter self absorption, narcissism, endless self promotion and – the worst of all if you’re going on the cover of Vogue – no sense of style whatsoever. His men’s clothing line sank, Sears cancelled the Kardashian line due to poor sales, Kim is frequently on the worst dressed list and all this silly vapid vacuous pair seem to be good at is ( her ) taking endless selfies showing off her considerable butt and ( him ) yammering on about he is the second coming. Anna Wintour has never put a foot wrong in all her years at the helm but the day she let Kanye browbeat her into submission is the day she put her foot wrong with a resounding clang. One word Ms Wintour – retire.
