Summer entertaining is always fun. As we wind down in the last weeks of summer, we’ve reviewed a selection of wines, and paired them back with different meals , so you can enjoy the rest of the season with delicious drops and dining.

Pepperjack Shiraz

A classic Barossa Shiraz, this is Australia’s No. 1 red wine for six years running*. The palate is rich and plush with concentrated layers of blackberry, red fruits and oak. This winning combination makes it the perfect accompaniment for steak, slow-roasted lamb shanks, roast pheasant with thyme or Thai Beef Patties With Rice Noodle Salad. Enjoy it on release or let it age gracefully with careful cellaring.

Squealing Pig Rose

Australia’s No. 1 Rosé*, this is a classic from Marlborough, New Zealand. It is a crisp and refreshing dry Rosé with nectarine and cherry flavours. Best paired with fresh seafood (try seared scallops or grilled salmon),  light salads, Spanish and Thai spices, curries and soft cheeses, it is perfect for summer entertaining.

Seppelt The Great Entertainer Chardonnay

Seppelt The Great Entertainer Chardonnay is a fresh and lively crowd pleasing drop. The palate carries flavours of sweet stone fruits, citrus peel and pear combined with a creamy texture and a hint of toasty oak. This makes it great for pairing alongside roast chicken with pear, lemon and fennel seed stuffing, barbecued seafood, or salads.

Yellowglen Sunset Spritz Spritzed Rosé infused with wild berries

The palate is soft, light and refreshing with plenty of juicy red berry fruit. Thanks to its clear, crisp finish, this spritzed wine pairs well with grilled salmon, paella with chicken and prawns or Thai beef salad. It also pairs perfectly with light pizzas such as prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella or prawn, tomato and rocket pizza. Summer entertaining, never tasted so good.

Yellowglen Sunset Spritz Rosé

The perfect refresher, the palate is crisp and light. It pairs beautifully with light canapés (particularly seafood or citrus based), antipasto, shellfish, sushi, creamy sauces, pastries, biscuits and cakes – in particular lemon and almond polenta cake. And there’s your summer entertaining sorted!
