In Spring, our social lives finally begin to blossom again – along with the flowers – after the tough winter months where we hibernated with our UberEats. Say no more to turtlenecks and put on your best day dress to celebrate the season of life at some of Sydney’s most wonderfully creative and devilishly luxe events. ‘Tis the season to be social, so we have listed five beautiful ‘girls day out’ events that are designed to embrace all things spring.

For Something Creative

The Shangri-La is home to many luxe events – my personal favourite was last year’s celebrity chef high tea where there were delicious citrus cocktails topped with persian fairy floss. The events can be on the more expensive side, but are oh-so worth it. The Altitude restaurant – based inside the Shangri-La hotel boasting sexy views of Sydney’s CBD and harbour – offers a magnificent hands-on activity for adults: a floral art class paired with lunch and bubbles. I’m putting on my apron as we speak.

From an artful posy, to a whimsical crown and elegant bouquet, Floral Desire Studio will
share their passion, knowledge and love of flowers” reads the website.

Guests will receive a glass of sparkling on arrival, and create floral designs inside a 45-minute private floral art class. Afterwards is the three course set lunch.

It’s required that all classes are a minimum of eight guests, so bring together all of your girlfriends and make a day out of it!

For Something Sweet

Australian fashion-illustrator and author, Megan Hess, has produced books on some of her favourite cosmopolitan cities and fashion designers, and illustrated the cover of Candace Bushnell’s Sexy and the City book. The beautiful blonde who sports soft pinks – no, she’s not Legally Blonde – is now offering Sydney-siders to dine at her very own personalised high tea based at the Sofitel in Sydney. The high tea celebrates her popular children’s book Claris: The Chicest Mouse in Paris, so this is the perfect ‘girls day out’ with your daughter, niece, or even your best friend’s young one.

The high tea is available every Saturday afternoon until December 21.

For Something Social

For this event, you don’t exactly need to be wearing your best pair of pumps. The Wahroonga Food and Wine Festival on the 27th of October offers an effortless day out for you and your mum, sister, or your girlfriends to eat and drink (endlessly) and embrace the warmth of spring. Tucked away in a beautifully decorated park in Wahroonga is music, cheese, wine, and oysters. Major community vibes – especially if you live in the Upper North Shore of Sydney.

For Something Relaxing

massage, relaxation

Lime & Tonic is offering a Ladies Spa Day in Sydney’s CBD. For complete relaxation and rejuvenation with you best girlfriends, indulge in a pampering session at Varda Spa. The experience allows groups of 2 – 8 friends to enjoy the intimate pampering session that includes tea and chocolate strawberries after enjoying a 60 minute massage, a 30 minute body scrub and a 30 minute Elemis skin specific taster facial. I can’t think of anything better. I’m sold. This experience is also perfect for hens day celebrations for upcoming spring weddings.

For something meditative

“The world’s only mindful triathlon returns to Sydney” on October 26. Wanderlust 108 is an outdoor event located in Centennial Park where groups of women experience a day of running, yoga (with a DJ set) and meditation to practice the art of mindfulness. It’s fun, it’s creative, it’s something different. Gather up your group of girlfriends and get meditative in your favourite Lululemon gear and celebrate with lunch afterwards.

Forget spring cleaning this season – Marie Kondo can wait – and indulge in the art of socialising.
