Smoothie pops are a wonderfully cost effective and healthy alternative to pre-packaged ice blocks or ice cream, and are the perfect lunch box treat for the kids to drink at lunch once defrosted.

You won’t need any added sugar or honey to this recipe. The mango, banana and passionfruit provide the perfect amount of creaminess and sweetness!

Makes 6-8 smoothie pops

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup of diced mango (can be frozen)
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1 cup of milk of your choice or coconut water
  • 1 – 2 passionfruit

METHOD

1 Blitz the mango, banana and milk or coconut water in a blender. While it is mixing, drizzle 1 teaspoon of passionfruit pulp in the base of each icy pole mold for a sweet hit.

2 Pour the smoothie mix into the icy pole molds containers and freeze for around 4 hours.

If you do want to take to school, freeze it in a freezer safe drink bottle or container. Let it defrost until lunch and shake before drinking.
