Energy clearing is not something we tend to think about every day. When it comes time to de-stress, we may grab a bottle of wine or a cocktail, have a massage or go for a run around the block. These are all great ways to relax and unwind, however practising a little energy clearing each day can help prevent stress from building up in the first place.
Here, yogini and Reiki master Trudy Vains, offers her top tips for energy clearing at home.
“Not everyone understands energy, and that’s ok, says Trudy. “However, all of us are made up of energy, and all of our thoughts and emotions are energy, too. Sometimes, this energy can become frazzled and hectic. This is when a bit of energy clearing can help. The good news is, it is really simple to implement.”
1. Energy Healing With Crystals
Firstly, surround yourself with grounding crystals like black tourmaline. It is said to provide anti-anxiety benefits and minimise obsessive behaviours. On a spiritual and emotional level, black tourmaline grounds energy and brings a sense of light.
Place it throughout your home and office. Keep a small stone in your bag each day and hold it in your palm if you’re feeling frazzled. Buy jewellery that uses it as a feature stone.
2. Energy Clearing By Grounding
Grounding is simply connecting your body to the earth. Also known as earthing, it is very important when energy is disrupted. You need calm and balance when you’re feeling tired and completely wiped out. Through grounding, you become more centred and aligned.
Go outside and stand on the grass, dig your toes down into the earth, close your eyes. Feel what it’s like to let go. Or place your whole body on the earth. It’s a wonderful way to melt away stress.
Also, get your hands dirty in the garden. Putting your hands in the soil and connecting with plants can really bring your energy back into balance.
Going to the beach has the same effect. Whether it is to just sit by the water, walk on the sand or go for a swim – whatever you like to do at the beach, do that!
3. Sage Advice
Burning a smudge stick in areas of your home or office that feel ‘blocked’ can help with clear energy and bring a feeling of lightness to the room.
Do this morning and night to keep a steady energy flow.
4. Create An Energetic Bubble
Before you get out of bed, take a deep breath in and say to yourself ‘I am creating an energetic bubble around my physical body’. This sets an intention for the day and tells the universe that you are claiming responsibility for yourself energetic self.
It also reminds you that you are stepping up, and being the most authentic person that you can be, with good boundaries in place. Seek out likeminded people, who will respect your boundaries. You won’t have to look far to find them.
5. Clear Your Workspace
If your workspace is full of clutter, disorganised and you can’t find anything, you will feel the same way energetically. Prioritise your workload and clear your workspace. Things will run smoother, and you will feel more productive.
6. Meditate In The Shower
When you shower, be it morning or night, wet your hair, allow the water to run completely from head to toes, and down the drain. At the same time, imagine the water is all the stress you’ve been building up. Think to yourself ‘I am clearing away all energy that is not mine’. This sets the tone that you are claiming your own energy and all else will be washed away.
7. Write Your Thoughts Down
Journaling is a wonderful method of energy clearing. Pour your heart into it after a long day. Words are energy, and energy is what you are made of. Sometimes reading back on journal entries later, you may have some AHA moments, things start to make sense about previous life patterns. You will learn a lot about yourself.
