Chicken thighs are moist, full of flavour and are generally more affordable than breasts. Keep your portions under control, but definitely include them in your weekly dinner routine.

Remember: It is important to make sure that a chicken thigh is cooked under the correct conditions as raw poultry can be contaminated with salmonella or campylobacter bacteria.

Delicious Chicken Thighs Guide

Thawing

The best way to thaw frozen food is in the fridge, never leave thaw your poultry at room temperature

Cleaning

  1. Wash your hands correctly before handling the poultry.
  2. Don’t rinse the poultry before it is cooked, as the water can act as a method of transportation for the bacteria.
  3. Use a separate chopping board for veggies and meat.

Leftovers

Put your leftovers in the fridge or freezer 2-3 hours after they were prepared to avoid bacterial growth. When reheating the food, make sure youo cook it to 74°C and try not to reheat leftovers more than once.

Cooking

Cook your chicken thighs to an internal temperature of 82 °C.
