Now, the guesswork can be taken out of most procedures. A new development called Vectra is a 3D imaging system that gives you photorealistic results… in short, the machine takes a snap of you at different angles, and a corresponding computer program allows you to see the finished result before going under the knife.
“Instead of booking an appointment with a doctor and looking really awkward in front of the mirror, you can have the patient see what they will look like after surgery, it’s just an amazing communication tool,” says Dr. Pouria Moradi of Park Clinic Plastic Surgery. “It’s not essential, but it really helps with the patient process.”Looking to get your boobs done?
“I think the best results are seen for patients that want breast augmentation,” continues Dr. Moradi. “It can be used on most people, except for those with sagginess in the area… the computer just can’t reconstruct the finished look as well as it should.”
The program will even go as far as letting you know your exact dimensions, but the best part is you’ll know exactly what kind of implants will look the best for your body shape, right down to the specific brand, size and shape to go for.
The machine also works really well for nose and chin jobs as well.
“We always start by asking the patient what they don’t like about their nose, and you can use the toggles on the program to amend the bump, projection and tip shape. This also gives your doctor exact details of how much to change on your face.”
At the end of your appointment, you leave with a print out of your before and after images so you can decide if the result is right for you. Cool, huh?
