These fashion films are all beautifully shot and cleverly promote in a visually stunning display of cinematography .
For example, fashion powerhouses such as Chanel and Dior have created a number of fashion films.
Their social media feeds are increasingly filled with video content rather than just image stills.
Chanel has taken on some huge Hollywood A-listers from likes of Kristen Stewart, Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne and created some interesting fashion films directed by their head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld.
Fashion film is fast becoming the hot new genre in the fashion and film world and is predicted to take over social media feeds more and more in the next few years.
The Australian Fashion Film Awards (AFFA) launched just last year in recognition of this global trend.
The AFFAs are back again in 2016 to celebrate the local industry, and this year the event boasts a new category titled 'Emerging Label', giving the opportunity for emerging artists and designers to get their names in the mix alongside the industry's elite.
Last year the big winners were Baz Luhrmann, Gracie Otto and Renya Xydis, with Country Road, featuring Gemma Ward, taking the award for Best Australian Fashion Film.
This year the event takes place in Sydney on October 18, with several industry notables already in place to judge the competition.
