Wonderful really was everywhere at the 2014 Myer marquee in the Birdcage enclosure at Flemington this year. Not only did the retail giant pay homage to fashion and racing in this year’s themed event, but guests were wowed with ‘Edible Happinesss’ – the ultimate cake and sugar cabinet, The Myer perfumery, a contemporary harpist (of course!), the Myer Shoe Shine and of course a bevy of beautiful bite-sized canapés and only the best G.H.MUMM champagne.
The ‘party’ marquee was inspired by the brand new Myer campaign to ‘find wonderful’ featuring a whimsical display of fashion art and design creating a sense of discovery. The colour palette pays tribute to the Myer designers with spring summer collection shades such ‘Alex Perry Yellow’, ‘by johnny Pink’ and ‘Ellery green’ sprinkled across the interior.
And of course, the guests didn’t disappoint. Face of Myer Jennifer Hawkins was a standout in a black long-sleeve lace Alex Perry dress and wide-brimmed Melissa Jackson hat, while Kris Smith looked dapper as always in MJ Bale. Myer Ambassadors Lauren Phillips, Jodi Anasta and Kate Peck all opted for white looks, wearing White Suede, Maticevski and by johnny respectively. Laura Dundovic was on trend as always in a voluminous white skirt and black organza top by Aurelio Costarella and a silver headpiece by Kerrie Stanley.
The gloomy Melbourne weather didn’t dampen the spirits of some of our fave celebs, who all came along to the Myer Marquee to find wonderful. Zoë Foster Blake was there with husband Hamish Blake and wore Arthur Galan AG and Cue with a stunning Natalie Bickiki headpiece. Hamish’s take on his wife’s outfit? “Her headpiece was inspired by the Sydney Opera House and she’s wearing a “splayed” black skirt”. Other celebrity appearances included Jessinta Campbell, Andy Lee, Lindy & Michael Klim, Tim Robards & Anna Heinrichs, Anthony Callea & Tim Campbell and Tash Oakley.
