Michael says that from the moment he saw a picture of Brisbane beautician Katrina Vincent, 30, he knew he had to get in touch.
But things didn’t go so well on the first date when Katrina’s two-year-old daughter Ava threw a tantrum in the coffee shop.
“So I piggybacked her to the park and we played on the swings, which is when she decided to throw up,” Brisbane-based Michael tells Woman’s Day.
“I ended up cleaning up vomit on our first date, which I have never done before.”
Despite the romance being still relatively new, Michael, 34, has no doubt that this is the woman he wants to marry.
“I knew literally from the first date that this girl is very, very special and there was no way I was going to let her go.
A “brow specialist” who also has a clothing line called Get Gorgeous, Katrina says she watched Michael on The Bachelorette and knew he was her type.
“I’m blown away by the fact I am with him,” says Katrina, who had 24,800 Instagram followers at the time this story was published.
“He’s just amazing. I’m a big believer in love at first sight — and I knew within minutes that we had something special.”
Michael says she “came along at the perfect time” and already feels far stronger for her than he ever did for Sam Frost who dumped him at the final rose ceremony on The Bachelorette for Sasha Mielczarek.
“I would definitely say this is the first time I’ve felt like this about any girl.”
The former soccer star also took to Instagram, posting a picture of the pair.
“You inspire me every day and you have such an amazing heart. I am so blessed to have fallen in love with you @katrinavincent. I am so lucky to have you in my life.”
Katrina also posted the same photo, writing: “I’ve fallen in love with the most amazing man!”
