Forget the fancy hotel, helicopter rides or expensive presents – they just want to spend unplugged time together, enjoying each other’s company.
More madly in love in love than ever, Sam tells Pop Sugar Australia that she doesn’t mind what they do, as long as they’re together.
“The ideal Valentine’s Day date would be a full day with my valentine,” agrees Sasha.
“A drive to a secluded clearing, a picnic with some antipasta, talking showbags, laughing and enjoying each other’s company! Maybe a bottle of wine, who knows? I like to live dangerously, you know!”
The demands of their work and family commitments has meant that Sasha and Sam have learnt that it’s quality time together that counts most.
“We’ve booked hotels for one another and taken each other out for nice romantic dinners. I’ve also taken her back to my home town of Bowral and taken her down to the winery,” says Sasha.
But Sasha also tells The Motherish that he and Sam are in no rush to follow the lead of The Bachelor love-birds Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski who became engaged at the end of 2015.
But he did add that he and Sam have plans to move in together before the middle of 2016.
“I’m still down at the South Coast and obviously Sam is in Sydney for her radio.
“There is plans [to move in together]. It’s not in the near future but it is close. We’re probably looking at April-May, mid-year type thing. It’s exciting,” he says.
“The next step will be to move in and then see how it all goes. I don’t feel any pressure,” Sasha adds.
He says Sam’s early morning radio starts with Rove McManus on 2DayFM have made her more organised, rather than detracted from their time together.
As for the recent reports suggesting that Sam’s too inexperienced and that the show will be axed in 2016, Sasha laughs those off.
“I think she’s absolutely killing it and I love listening to her on live stream down the coast here every morning, I listen to her from 6am to 9am.
“At the end of the day they obviously have nothing else to write about and they’re just picking on a girl who is new to the industry.”
