Although police aren’t releasing any new leads on Kim Kardashian’s gunpoint robbery, a new report suggests it was the work of the infamous Pink Panther gang.
“It was mentioned. They were definitely mentioned,” a source tells Page Six.
The world’s most notorious jewel thieves have been around for nearly 30 years, and the dramatic weekend robbery in Kim’s Paris hotel room has all their hallmarks.
Rakjo Causevic, a self-proclaimed founding member of the gang, has described them as “gentleman thieves” who never engaged in violence.
“Pink Panther is a system. We created a system. We were never violent. I am a thief, but a gentleman. We always made clear plans,” he said this year after stolen jewellery belonging to Croatia’s ambassador to Montenegro was found in an apartment he rented.
Kim was in France for Paris Fashion Week and was regularly seen out and about flashing her expensive bling before the heist.
Reports say that around $14 million worth of jewellery was stolen in the robbery that happened around 3am local time.
One of the objects taken is said to be a ring worth nearly $6 million prompting fears it could be her engagement ring.
“The loss amounts to several million euros, mostly jewellery. The total amount is still being evaluated,” police said.
Kim’s two young children, North and Saint, were not present when the gunmen broke into her private apartment at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, a favourite celebrity haunt.
According to Paris police, the gunmen — wearing ski masks and clothes with police markings — gained access to the reality star’s luxury residence by handcuffing the concierge and forcing him at gunpoint to lead them to her room.
Police said the five masked men tied Kim up and locked her in the bathroom before escaping on bikes. They are still at large.
“Once they were in the building, they tied up the receptionist’s hands,” Laurent Riquart, a spokesman for the investigative unit of the Paris police said. “They went up the stairs and entered her room. They tied up her hands and put a gag in her mouth.”
Unharmed but badly shaken, Kim quickly flew back to New York on a private jet.

Husband Kanye West, who had cancelled a gig mid-stream when he heard the devastating news, was seen escorting her into their Manhattan residence with a heavy entourage of about 10 vehicles, 15 bodyguards and police.
The reality star’s personal bodyguard, Pascal Duvier — who was reportedly not in the luxury residence when the robbery occurred — was also with them.
