Khloe’s estranged husband collapsed in a Nevada brothel from a near-fatal drug overdose in October, 2015.
It’s been a long slow haul back to health for the former basketballer, but he recently took his first steps unassisted, say reports.
“His kidneys are recovered and all of his organs are pretty much recovered,” confirms Khloe, who has put her divorce on hold so she can make all the important decisions for Lamar.
“It’s more his brain is still affected and physically he has to learn how to walk again.
“And he is learning how to feed himself again. All those normal things we take for granted every day and it’s a really long road and it’s going to take a long time.”
There was some more good news for Lamar recently when it was revealed that he is set to move to a rehab facility closer to Khloe’s home.
“He actually gets a little better every day,’ another source told US Weekly magazine.
“He talks a bit more each day and walks with a walker but still has trouble processing his thoughts,” the insider revealed.
“It’s very slow but little by little.”
Other reports say all the Kardashian clan has been coming and going to lend their support, but it’s always Khloe who shoulders most of the burden.
“The Lamar situation still weighs on Khloé. She’s not one who just walks away,” says People magazine.
“She’s going to be there for him, but she also needs to start focusing back on herself – and she knows that.”
Khloe has been slowly getting back to her regular life routine since caring for Lamar nonstop.
She was able to do some publicity for her new book Strong Looks Better Naked in early November, until she contracted a ‘staph’ infection from spending so much time by Lamar’s bedside at Cedars Sinai Medical Centre.
As for the chance of a romantic reconciliation between her and the man she married in 2009, for once the publicity-friendly Khloe is staying tight-lipped.
“There is so much more medically and emotionally that we have to go through in order to even think about anything romantically,” she says.
