Kendall And Charlize Win Red Carpet Prize At MTV Awards

It took breakthrough performance for Daisy Ridley, movie of the year, and best villain for Adam Driver.

Deadpool and Pitch Perfect 2 took home two awards each.

Charlize Theron, also a standout on the red carpet, won the best female performance for her powerful turn as a road warrior in Mad Max: Fury Road.

She thanked her children, Jackson and August, as well as the film’s Aussie director George Miller.

“The story of Fury Road is in part a story of the power of women and the power to create our own destinies,” Charlize said before accepting the award in her daughter’s name.

Daisy Ridley won the breakthrough performance award for her leading role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

It feels especially amazing to be part of a film that reps all genders… races and ages in such a positive and aspirational way,” she says.

Amy Poehler took the opportunity to mention the night was also the ninth anniversary of her now finished tv series Parks & Recreation as she accepted her award for best virtual performance in Inside Out.

Her Parks & Recreation co-star Chris Pratt, who won the best action performance award for his role in Jurassic World, jumped from his seat in approval.

Hosts Dwanye Johnson and comedian Kevin Hart were front and centre for the night’s festivities, celebrating popular film, voted for by the public.

Along with the usual red carpet hits and misses – Kendall Jenner was another head-turner in a sexy black dress and strappy stilettos – this year’s MTV Generation Award celebrated Will Smith.

The Men In Black star debuted a sneak peak of the upcoming film Suicide Squad with co-stars Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne, above.
