It may be Angela Bishop’s twelfth Golden Globes Awards, but that hasn’t taken the shine off the event. Angela has covered more awards ceremonies than many actors in her 25 year career, so what are the highlights from this year’s event? Find out which 9-year-old stole the show, her favourite celebrity interviews, what Jennifer Lawrence had to say and who the suspiscious actor was waiting for fans.
What is the backstage buzz and energy like?
“Fantastic! Sylvester Stallone was so sweet about his win, Jennifer Lawrence is just divine – I asked her if she felt bad for beating bestie Amy Schumer and she said ‘no – she’ll be fine!’ Leonardo Di Caprio came backstage and just had everyone in the room hanging off his every word. I’d still like to know if the bear bought him dinner.”

Favourite red carpet looks?
“Cate Blanchett in ice-cream pink by Givenchy and 9-year-old Jacob Tremblay, the star of ‘Room’.” Angela managed to score some one-on-one time with Cate Blanchett, who was nominated for her role ‘Carol’.
Most interesting celebrity interview?
“Alan Cumming, who was nominated for best supporting actor for ‘The Good Wife’. He had just got off a flight from Australia! He was very honest, including mentioning how people should prepare a speech, and not just get up there and say they are shocked and be incoherent.”
Any unexpected celebrity surprises on the day?
“Seeing David Hasselhoff was a surprise. He said he was going to hang outside the toilets and wait for famous people to come up to him and tell him they are fans of his. He says he’s done some of his best business deals at the urinal.”
Where you privy to any wardrobe malfunctions?
“Only mine. I managed to lose some sequins in a bizarre uber incident.”
Your favourite speech?
“The best speech was by Matt Damon, who won best actor in a comedy for ‘The Martian’. It was so heartfelt and he was genuinely grateful to be back in the Awards mix 18 years after ‘Good Will Hunting’. And he mentioned his kids. And his wife. Top bloke. Top movie!”
Backstage highlights?
“Jon Hamm, who won best actor for a drama for the final season of ‘Mad Men’. He did an entire interview with me in a flawless Australian accent. If he needs a gig he should come down our way!”
