Hours after confirming her split with husband of four years Will Kopelman, the brave Charlie’s Angels star was out promoting her Barrymore wines at a Californian food and wine event.
To end growing speculation about their split, Drew and Will released a statement saying they were putting their two children Olive, 3, and Frankie, 23 months, first.
“Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family,” the pair tells People.com.
“Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on.
“Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority.”
Drew, 41, began dating art consultant Will in early 2011, and they were married in June the following year.
In an earlier interview, Drew admits it was never really love at first sight.
“Will struck a lot of my pragmatic sides,” she tells InStyle. “He was someone who was always reachable on the phone, someone who was a classy human being, someone who has this incredible blueprint of a family that I don’t have.”
The actress had told Us Weekly magazine in November 2015 that marriage requires a lot of comprise.
“My husband and I compromise on a lot of things…,” she says. “It’s the little things that you can change that can make a relationship stronger.
“Compromise is about changing yourself for the better. It’s an opportunity for you to become a more functional, better person.”
Unlucky-in-love Drew was previously married to bar owner Jeremy Thomas for just weeks in 1994, and comedian Tom Green filed for divorce months after they got hitched in July 2001.
