Lachlan, 37, told A Current Affair that since filming finished some weeks ago, the spark has died because they couldn’t make a long-distance relationship work.
Lachlan farms in Camden, south-west of Sydney, while Belinda, 35, is a naturopath from Victoria.
“We gave it our best shot, it didn’t work out,” says Lachlan, who also split with Clare Tamas on reality show Married At First Sight.
The cattle farmer, and 2010 Masterchef contestant, went on to say that it began to get hard planning meet-ups so far in advance when he had to take care of his property.
He says he also struggled with the need to keep their relationship private so they wouldn’t spoil the finale reveal on TV.
“It was very tricky because you couldn’t just go out for dinner in case someone spotted you.”
Lachlan’s revelations come just hours after his ex-gilfriend, horse-trainer Natalie Cepeniuk told the Courier Mail that Lachlan was with Belinda when he still loved her.
Natalie went on to reveal that the pair had broken-up since the show ended and that Belinda had reached out to her for some advice and moral support.
“Belinda contacted me to see if I’d encountered the same problems with him as she had, and she wanted to find closure,” she claims.
Lachlan tells Daily Mail Australia: “Everything she says about me are unsubstantiated lies…I wish I had never gone out with her.”
In other couple updates since filming of Farmer Wants A Wife finished, it seems that only oyster farmer Jedd and Sam have gone the distance, say reports.
