The Sydney Opera House recently lit its sales in acknowledgement of the bravery of the many men and women who have been affected and are fighting the devasting fires across NSW.

We are lighting the Opera House sails to show our collective support for everyone affected by these devastating fires and to express our deepest gratitude to the emergency services and volunteers for their incredible efforts and courage.” said Sydney Opera House CEO Louise Herron

The aim is to unite the country and send out a “message of hope and strength to the people of Australia” during these difficult times, she continued.

It has also been announced that Live Nation and the Sydney Opera House will partner up in March to help raise money for the many fire-affected communities. There will be an outdoor gala performance – ‘Comedy Steps Up for Bushfire Relief – which people can attend by buying tickets which went on sale earlier this week. All the proceeds will go to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund, the NSW Rural Fire Service, Wildlife Victoria and WIRES.
