Anine Bing began her career in 2012 by designing a pair of jeans that would look and feel good on her and then slowly began designing t-shirts and simple accessories to complete a simple look.
The Carousel caught up the Danish model turned blogger turned fashion designer at her LA headquarters.
While the California resident describes her collection as rock-bohemian the Danish designer’s main focus is on achieving effortless style in whatever she wears. “I started by creating a pair of jeans that would look good on me, and that I would love,” she explains. “Not too high, not too low, skinny, and holding you in, in all the right places. And I wanted them to be super flattering, that’s my thing.
“I started with jeans and then a t-shirt and a leather jacket because I love leather jackets and I expanded to pretty much everything. i added boots, dresses, sweats – everything. I want the clothes to be casual and beautiful … effortless.”
Here, she models her favourite skinny jeans for The Carousel and includes her top tips on how to wear the wardrobe staple and explains how her fashion empire all began by designing a pair of skinny jeans.
Anine Bing, who dresses Rosie Huntington Whiteley and a star studded line up of celebrities, is now expanding to children’s wear and opening stores across the United States, Britain and Europe.
