The glitterati from the movie world were back in force at the world premiere of the 25th James Bond movie – No Time to Die – in London today.
Daniel Craig showed us he certainly has the ability to make a statement by wearing a bright red velvet jacket and Kate Middleton also stunned in a fashionable golden dress.
We asked two stylists what their favourite outfit was and why?
Danielle Johansen, CEO and founder of virtual styling platform Threadicated said:
“The cast and guests all seemed to gravitate to glamour from years gone by at the No Time to Die premiere today.
“Daniel Craig’s Bond will forever be synonymous with Tom Ford, and tonight he followed suit (pun intended). His double-breasted velvet Tom Ford tuxedo jacket was the perfect piece to bring the old-world glamour we have known Bond to uphold. While most men tend to stick to a classic navy, grey, or black suit, I feel a jacket in a bold colour, fabric or print is a must-have in the wardrobe for when the moment strikes.
“Lea Seydoux custom made Louis Vuitton cape gown was equal parts ethereal and glamorous. The belted waistline graced her curves, and drew the eye to the beautiful neckline, with its cut-out detailing and high neck.
“No crown was needed for Kate to sparkle, she looked elegant yet brought Hollywood glamour in her Jenny Packham metallic gold sequined caped gown. William looked dapper in a classic black velvet tuxedo.
“The asymmetrical design of Lashana Lynch’s Vivienne Westwood gown would be an extraordinary design feature alone, however, the bold yellow hue is what really makes this dress. Complementing the dress perfectly was the elegant emerald jewellery by Ara Vartanian. Making bold fashion statements on the red carpet must be something they teach you when they cast you as Bond.
“Phoebe Waller Bridge’s jumpsuit was a classic with a modern twist. The glittering black Azzaro jumpsuit popped against the contrasting chic cream coat draped over her shoulders.”

Stylist Gessica Marmotta had this to say:
“Given the last couple of years, there is a fresh and eager determination to live like there’s no tomorrow, to spend frivolously and dress like it’s a party everyday. I like to call it a ‘Revenge on style’, permanently isolating the slovenly wear of the last couple of years and into a world of glamour.
“The roaring 20’s and Old Hollywood glamour era of the 30’s comes to mind and were exemplar’s of all things glitz and glamour, which seems to be prevalent in the fashions at the premier.
“Daniel Craig in that luscious red velvet jacket fits his debonair Bond character perfectly and Kate Middleton, although I would not place her in sequins normally, pulled this magical dress off so well.
“Loved the rebel edge Phoebe Waller-Bridge embodied with the fabulous sequin jumpsuit and white cape. Lea Seydoux for me takes the cake – a sexy goddess in that exquisite gown – the epitome of glamour and style.
“Is glamour back? It sure is, and as a person that has consistently dressed up every day during lockdown, I say Amen, I feel at home”.
