Those seeking life balance in these tumultuous times – watch out! There are some big astrological events on their way… So far we’ve had September’s full Harvest Moon, the Spring Equinox two days later and now we are finishing off the month with Mercury Retrograde, and they all bring a bit of emotional unrest.

Spiritually we can expect these events to have a big impact on our emotions and relationships and it’s important to try and maintain as much balance as possible.

We have three big cosmic events all occurring around the same time: the rise of the famously bright full Harvest Moon (September 21st), the important seasonal marker Spring Equinox (September 23rd) where we have equal hours of day and night, and Mercury Retrograde (September 27th) which is notorious for throwing people off balance.

Astrologically these events are messing with our emotions during a time when no matter where we are in Australia, we are all already experiencing some level of concern or upheaval with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

At the moment with many people in southern states being in lockdown and feeling isolated, they will be repressing emotions and events… and the balance they are seeking is further disrupted by the stars.

There is a lot of change going on as we approach October with lockdowns being eased – this is a time when people need to be mindful that the heavens are challenging you!

Focus on achieving balance, especially as your emotions are being challenged. Work on resolving small things in yourself… and get plenty of rest!”

Harvest Moon: September 21st

Every full moon has its own name based on the month or the season in which it appears – a name for each full moon allows people to reflect on each season and to contemplate how it affects them and the natural world.

The name Harvest Moon refers to the time farmers finish their harvest in North America before frost arrives.

Although astrologically it doesn’t matter what name a full moon has, I would encourage people to think about things they want to harvest in their own lives.

Spring Equinox: September 23rd

The Equinox, when the midday sun is directly above the equator, giving every location on the planet 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. It’s the Spring Equinox here in the Southern Hemisphere and the Autumn or Fall Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere.

It’s an important seasonal point, when the sun crosses the celestial equator heading south to create longer, warmer days as the southern hemisphere begins to tilt towards our star: we all notice it!

Spiritually, Spring Equinox represents the seeds that you have planted over the winter months – whether that be physical or in your unconscious – things you have been mulling over or ideas you have been planting now have a chance to come to fruition.

Libra season begins on the 23rd, so we are being urged to come together and give thanks to the people who continually love and support us as we move to the next season and look for balance.

Mercury Retrograde: September 27th to October 18th

Mercury Retrograde in Libra begins on September 27th, and even though this is the planet’s third retrograde this year, this seemingly “backward step” event is especially important as we prepare for October’s huge change.

Mercury is the speedy planet that controls communication, technology and travel – and when  retrograde, brings disruption, miscommunication and technological chaos relating to missed appointments, phone problems, arguments and mental confusion.

The three Mercury retrogrades this year are a bit unusual in that they are all in air signs, particularly affecting the mental realms of our thinking.

However, in October Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto all turn direct giving us a huge surge forward of energy. We’ll be compelled to expand our lives in the search for self-fulfilment.

Hold off any major decisions, purchases, and judgments and to use the time to slow down and reflect on your ideas surrounding love, beauty and peacefulness.

Libra: September 23 - October 22 Your Weekly Star Sign Predictions
Libra: September 23 – October 22

This is the last Mercury Retrograde for the year, and Librans will be most affected.

Relationships may be tested due to misunderstandings or something weird happens, like your ex coming back!

Libra loves love so you two might get back together? But do remember why they’re an ex! The ball is in your court however so do be aware of reoccurring patterns in relationships. Reassessing your and your partner’s needs will be a top priority at this time.

Libra is ruled by Venus who also looks after finances and business, so take extra care in these areas and watch your spending. Check your receipts and invoices during this time.

Pay attention to what is going on in your life, you can quite literally feel the energy when Mercury goes retrograde and when it turns direct, restoring order to your life once again.
