Eye of Horus is a brand that I have been following since it first launched in Byron Bay in 2012. I first spotted the mascara in my local chemist and was immediately struck by the black and gold packaging. I also noticed that the product was cruelty free and the ingredients were all natural. Nowadays, this is more commonly referred to as clean beauty and Eye of Horus was certainly one of the forerunners of this movement. The name itself is homage to the beauty rituals of the Ancient Egyptians who, of course, knew nothing else other than the craft of formulating natural products. I started using the eye makeup, and quickly found the Goddess Mascara was an essential beauty go to.

Not surprisingly Eye of Horus has since built a cult beauty following from its humble beginnings and there are 400 stores across Australia filled with a huge range of their luxury organic products. The brainchild of Holly Schleich, who founded the brand almost a decade ago, Eye of Horus has a reputation for its long-lasting formulations and for being ethical and organic.

Let’s take a look at where it all began – the Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara is a lengthening and volumising mascara and has sold over 150,000 tubes worldwide.

Inspired by ancient beauty rituals and sacred ingredients, this award-winning, luxurious formula is ideal for sensitive eyes and is smudge-proof, water-proof, clump-proof and quick-drying. Despite its incredible staying power, the best part is its tube-like formula which can be easily removed with warm water and wiped away.  But once you start wearing Eye of Horus, you’ll want to try the other products too and my recommendation is the Dual eyebrow pencil and gel duo, the vegan contour brush, and rose shimmer Lip Elixer which has the most incredible shimmer.
