Like so many, my main problem area is my tummy. Not as tight as it used to be, these five pieces will (thankfully) do the trick and help camouflage the tummy area.
1. The shift dress
What would women around the world do without the shift dress? This classic shape skims across the tummy (and other problem areas) effortlessly.
A simple shift in a timeless colour is a wardrobe staple for life.
ASOS Sleeveless Shift Dress with High Neck, $61.54
2. The pull-up yoga pants
The “yoga chic” trend thanks to brands like Lulu Lemon and Lorna Jane, is a godsend. Because there are no buttons or zips, it won’t add bulk over the tummy and (more importantly) reduces the risk of muffin tops.
All you need is a loose cotton tee, a little necklace and some flats and this look will take you from school runs to supermarket.
Revolve Spandex Flare Pant, $68.94
3. The high waisted shorts
If you have the legs, high waisted shorts are a great way to show off the legs and divert attention from the tummy. The high waist works like “built-in” shape wear – tucking away the tummy. Style it with a looser tee or blouse and look for a pair in a heavier, structured fabric so it gives you maximum coverage.
Revolve Corbin 2 Short, $157.10
4. The longer blouse
A little length goes a long way to help camouflage a tummy. This blouse also has some asymmetric lines which also creates a neat distraction across the area.
Target Runway to Rack Splice Top, $69.
5. The statement blazer
Not only is a blazer a good additional layer, when it’s in a bold print or colour it can divert attention away from the tummy. Just keep the rest of your outfit neutral and let the blazer pop.
ASOS Vila Floral Front Blazer, $115.39
