The bride is none other than 31 year old fashion designer, socialite and hotel heiress, Nicky Hilton. The groom? James Rothschild, the 30 year old executive chairman of Rothschild Asset Management and son to the late Amschel Rothschild.
The couple met back in 2011 and finally tied the knot in an opulent ceremony at London’s Kensington Palace with a sea of family, friends and ‘society’s elite’ looking on.
Here’s a little glimpse inside the glam.
No fairy tale would be complete without a ‘glass slipper’ and Nicky’s were Christian Louboutin – darling. Here’s the Bride (in case you missed that on the back of her gown) looking wistfully out the window of the stately Claridges Hotel before the ceremony.
The gown – couture Valentino of course. Demure (surprisingly) and fit for a queen (well, hotel heiress). £50,000 could get you this too.
The flower girls stole the show however (GASP!) in blue tulle and ‘shooting star’ sequins (at Nicky’s request…ehhem) dresses designed by none other than Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece herself (who attended the celebrations with husband Prince Pavlos).
Here’s Valentino’s handiwork…Along with a place setting fit for an English rose (or American socialite) shared by Nicky’s brother Barron on Instagram (thanks Barron)
Barron also gave away the rehearsal location – Spencer House – where the family gathered to go through their paces the night before…Here’s a family snap of the happy couple at the rehearsal dinner amongst their plentiful surroundings.
More fairy tale endings, and of course a grand marquee for the post-wedding Sunday brunch…
And finally, what would a fairy tale be without a little hiccup in the narrative along the way. Here’s the moment when Nicky’s train got caught under the wheel of a wedding car. It was a Bentley though, so no harm done…
