Just like it’s equally delectable cousin ‘Pizza’, the history of lasagnas can be traced back to Ancient Greece. The name Lasagna is derived from the Greek term ‘Laganon’, which was the first ever form of pasta. This was not lasagne as we know it however.
The indulgent and warming layered dish, full of vegetables, meat and that oh so important cheese was first invented in the Middle Ages, in Naples in Italy. The delicious meal was a treat, especially crafted for special occasions and celebrations.
No matter where it originated from, one thing is certain. There is everything right with Lasagna.
