Aussie Brand INIKA Organic Takes Over New York Fashion Week 2018

INIKA Organic is the first natural Australian beauty brand to be invited to beautify the models’looks for the runway shows of two high-profile designers–Tadashi Shoji and House of Nonie.

According to Viv Foulsum, the INIKA Organic Global Communications Manager who attended the NYFW, “INIKA Organic believes in the value of steady progress towards the vegan space that we are so passionate about. As a team, we’re hoping to bring the Cruelty-free and Vegan movement to the forefront at Fashion Week.”

Each designer showcased two contrasting looks. The first to feature the brand was American-based, Japanese designer Tadashi Shoji. He is famous for designing gowns renowned for femininity.

“Spring 2019 is inspired by going to space and the feeling of hope because the future is bright.” Tadashi Shoji–SS19 inspiration

Tadashi’s vision was brought to life with the help of Pep Gay, the lead makeup artist, using a fresh approach and new techniques. “This INIKA Organic look has been inspired by the beauty and vastness of the galaxy. There is Pink Poppy on the lips and also across the cheeks to create consistency in the colour palette and the nourishing Lip Serum has been used to affix the biodegradable glitter without glue or harsh chemicals.”

Tadashi Shoji’s SS19 Runway look includes:

  • Long Lash Vegan Mascara
  • Galactic-inspired, 100% biodegradable glitter adhered with Certified Organic Lip Serum
  • Certified Organic Pure Primer
  • Certified Organic Liquid Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid
  • Certified Organic Vegan Lipstick in Pink Poppy (lips and cheeks) also applied as a blush with the fingertips

INIKA Organic created a Meghan Markle-inspired look for the second show for Canadian designer, Nina Kharey’s House of Nonie. When the Duchess of Sussex recently wore a blush-pink sleeveless trench at some event in July, the House of Nonie selected the natural Australian brand to pay devotion to Ms. Markle’s effortless grace and style.

The New York-based, Australian makeup artist, Campbell Ritchie helped design the classic-modern look featured at the show. “I made the hard decision last year to get rid of every single product in my kit that wasn’t cruelty-free or that was too synthetic. I now only embrace brands that I truly believe in, and INIKA Organic has the perfect range to create this regal look. Every model’s skin was glowing with luminosity and vitality, and all of the girls were saying how much they loved having a natural product on their skin, especially since it created this iconic and glamorous look.”

House of Nonie’s SS19 Runway look includes:

  • Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
  • Cleansing Micellar Rosewater
  • Certified Organic Light Reflect Cream as a base
  • Certified Organic BB Cream
  • Baked Mineral Illuminisor
  • Certified Organic Vegan Lipstick in Pink Poppy
  • Certified Organic Cream Illuminisor pressed into the lips for added luminescence
  • Naturally Pressed Eyeshadow
  • Certified Organic Eye Pencil
  • Long Lash Vegan Mascara
