With 15.2 million travellers landing in Singapore last year, it truly is becoming more than a stopover destination. Known mostly as a layover for business travellers, what if you were to take an extra day or two in Singapore for you?
With more and more flights choosing Singapore as a stopover destination, playing tourist and doing some shopping while you wait definitely beats the airport lounge.
There are more and more retailers opening up every day in Singapore, from Prada to ‘Prado’, where can you find what you are after?
Changi Airport
As soon as you step off the plane, you get a feel for how shopping oriented this city will really be. If you are unlucky enough to only have a short stopover in Singapore, head to Terminal 2 for all the luxury brands you know and love. If your feet are aching from all the exploring, prepare to be pampered and enlightened with a ‘Fish Spa’ at Airport Wellness Oasis.
Orchard Road
Perhaps Asia’s most famous shopping street, Orchard Road is 2.2km of satisfying retail therapy. Filled with fashion favourites, malls, restaurants and entertainment, if you want it, chances are Orchard Road has it.
Haji Lane
For a completely different change of pace and culture, head to Haji Lane to see a different side to Singapore. Walls filled with murals, quality coffee and independent boutiques line the streets. If it is vintage clothing you seek, Haji Lane is a must-see.
Little India
Buzzing culture, the best vegetarian food with a bohemian vibe, Little India is like nothing else in Singapore.
The locals at the open air Tekka Centre showcase some amazing, authentic products whilst the 24-hour shopping mall Mustafa Centre offers all the mainstream goods you could wish for.
There are of course hundreds more shops to explore; Holland Road Shopping Centre, Vivo City and Dempsey Road are just some other areas to explore.

With so much shopping to do and culture to explore, winding down in homely comfort sounds like bliss at the end of the day. With hundreds of hotels offering luxury, not many can also offer a refreshing, relaxing environment for you to refuel.
Oasia Hotel Downtown is the perfect base location for your trip, with the vivid, wall-garden exterior making it unmistakable for anyone who can get lost in a new city (guilty!). With reception located on the 12th floor, it is an immediate escape from the hustle and bustle of the town.
Wellness is the cornerstone of the hotel and splashing out for a Club room is well worth it.
With morning yoga classes, private pools and a 24-hour gym, this private oasis will ensure you get on your return flight a new you (with your new wardrobe too of course).
