Winx Retires After Making Racing History With Her 33rd Consecutive Win

History was made at Royal Randwick on Saturday when the champion mare Winx graced the track for the last time to take out her 33rd consecutive race in the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes in front of a sold-out crowd of over 42,000 spectators.

The legendary mare has captured the imagination of the Australian public, and it’s no surprise that there were a string of celebrities in attendance including Jesinta Franklin, actress turned director, Rachel Griffiths and Autumn Racing International Guest, Sailor Brinkley-Cook.

Franklin chose the winner of the coveted Longines Prize for Elegance which was hosted by Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Edwina McCann, and recognised the most elegant female racegoer of the day, Mildred Ellwood.

So let’s take a look at the fashion on the fields and the moment when Winx took her final bow.
