- According to New Idea magazine, Alex’s estranged husband wouldn’t be too thrilled if Elijah ends up with a reality TV star as a stepdad. “When he heard that Alex was going on The Bachelor, he was not elated,” the friend tells the magazine. The same source said he wasn’t thrilled at the through of seeing Alex flirting and “cavorting” with another man on TV
- The part-time model has recently come out of a 15-month relationship with 23-year-old engineering and commerce student Tom Barbour, who was left disabled after severing his spinal cord in a construction site accident, reveals OK magazine. Alex tells the publication that Tom is probably the first person she’s ever loved. “He’d fallen nine metres and severed his spinal cord, but we fell madly in love and I renovated my house so he could move in with me.”
- Before going on the show, the Melbourne venue manager posed for photographer Eddie Seah in a series of sexy shots. The words ‘I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine’ – a biblical quote from Song of Solomon 6:3 – can be seen tattooed across her side in hand-writing style text.
- Alex tells Pop Sugar that she’d never seen The Bachelor or The Bachelorette before filling out the application. She says she was on the Network Ten website reading the news coverage when she saw the call-up. “I did have mixed emotions but my mum was very much like, ‘you have to take this opportunity, it could be amazing – you could meet someone really, really awesome’.”
