Watch Kate Middleton Drumming At Party

More radiant than ever with her freshly chopped tresses and holiday-red Alexander McQueen dress, Kate got into the festive spirit by drumming along to Queen’s We Will Rock You with the children at a North London mental health centre – to view just click on the video below.

Kate, 33, who previously visited the centre’s family school at the start of term in September, played drums with the kids, watched a festive performance and helped create a Christmas-themed handprint collage.

“The visit reflects the Duchess’ continued interest in child mental health issues and the importance of early intervention and working with the whole family to provide children with in-school mental health services,” says a Kensington Palace spokeswoman.

“Her Royal Highness is keen to draw attention to the ways in which this charity is working to lead a step change in children’s and young people’s mental health care.

As always, Kate put her heart and soul into the appearance, leaving with sore hands after her 15-minute percussion performance.

“I thought the Duchess was fantastic,” says Jude Windwood, founder of the drumming workshop BeatFeet.

“She dug in deep and coped really well.

“The drumming gives the children a voice and they can express themselves when words aren’t enough.”

When Kate arrived she joined the children from the school, run by the Anna Freud Centre, and their parents at tables where they were making paper copies of their hands.

The designs formed part of a Christmas tree collage celebrating the children’s achievements with positive messages written on the fingers.

The Duchess gave a short address before leaving, telling the staff, children and parents: “Thank you everyone, it’s been so fantastic to see you all again, doing amazing things, so keep it up and have a really happy Christmas.”
