She’s bounced back since those pictures surfaced of her looking disturbingly skinny at the beach with former Home and Away co-star Tessa James, and is embracing her newfound singledom.

Her new status officially began earlier in 2016 when she moved into the new apartment she now shares with her two-year-old daughter Aleeia.

“I bought this apartment so she could have some space,” Jodi tells The Sunday Telegraph.

“The first day we got here she ran along the [pavers] and belly flopped on the grass. She is so full of life, she is so funny.”

Jodi has Aleeia on the weekends and early in the week, and Aleeia stays with Braith for the second half of the week.

“When Braith dropped her off the other day, she said, ‘I love you, Daddy. I love you, Mummy.’ She’s just beautiful.”

Jodi says she is adjusting to single motherhood, even though she never thought she’d end up there.

“It’s funny, I don’t find it scary. This is my life and this is where I am meant to be right now.”

Although reluctant to elaborate, Jodi, 31, says that anyone who knows her and Braith isn’t surprised that they’ve split after such a short time together.

She says the disconnection between them simply became insurmountable: he wanted a big family and she wanted to focus on work for a while.

But so far, so good when it comes to co-parenting, adds Jodi, who enjoyed a memorable day with Braith during Aleeia’s recent second birthday at Taronga Zoo.

“We are still supportive, and we can do things as a family. [Braith’s] an amazing father, he really is. He has been a great support to me, too.

“I feel pretty lucky having that relationship at the moment, and especially with it being so early, I feel lucky to have that.”

Jodi says she also doesn’t intend to drop Braith’s surname, no matter what the future holds.

“I don’t know why people think I ever changed it [back],” she says.

“I want the same last name as my daughter. I have no problem – I am an Anasta. It’s a done deal.”

Meanwhile, Jodi also tells The Sunday Telegraph that she’s busier than ever on the work front.

She is doing acting classes. She has been auditioning, but also disputes rumours that she wants to relocate to the US.

“Not true,” says Jodi. “I am happy living and working here in Australia. If an opportunity came up – great. But I’m not actively seeking work overseas.”

Jodi is also a Myer ambassador and the face of its autumn racing campaign. In this role, she’ll be representing the retailer on both Championship days at Royal Randwick on April 2 and 9. She’s also one of the judges of the Fashions on the Field competition.

“It’s all about contrasting effect. Lace and leather. Stripes and denim. Leather and boho,” she offers up as tips to those contemplating chasing more than $50,000 in prizes in the coveted event.
