Speaking on The Project, Sam says she was rapt to hear the news that The Bachelor Sam had proposed to Snezana Markoski while holidaying in Tasmania.
While congratulating the couple on the announcement she told co-host Carrie Bickmore: “No, no pressure on us!”
“It’s great news. They’re taking it away from us,” she added.
Appearing on The Project with her radio co-host Rove McManus to promote an on-air Star Wars stunt, she deftly diffused talk about an engagement and wedding for her and beau Sasha Mielczarek.
“Sam, do you have anything you want to tell us?” Rove cheekily probed, with the starlet simply plugging their breakfast radio show instead.
Carrie jokingly asked: “What if Sash got down on one knee and said I want to marry you and we wanna do it Star Wars-themed?”
“I’d have to Google it all because I fell asleep through it,” she replied casually.
Sam and Rove watched six Star Wars films ahead of the December 17 release of the latest in the hit franchise, The Force Awakens.
But Sam admits she didn’t find them entertaining enough to stay awake.
Sam is understandably cautious about fast-tracking engagement talk after accepting Blake Garvey’s proposal on the series finale of The Bachelor in 2014.
Blake then dumped Sam unexpectedly just weeks later to fall into the arms of third-placed Louise Pillidge.
Speaking on The Project at the time of their split, Sam revealed: ‘I’m so annoyed he proposed, and that’s actually what I said to him.
“When he called it off, I said ‘How dare you propose to me! How dare you take that moment away from me because I want to be engaged once, and get married once’.
“I want to believe in it and I feel like he kind of took that away from me. He made me feel like it’s actually going to happen.”
