Adele’s 24-hour YouTube view record title, has just been beaten by the late legend David Bowie, with 51 million views on his Vevo catalogue after his most recent music release Blackstar, to Adele’s 36 million after the release of Hello.
His latest album Blackstar, released on January 8, his 69th birthday, is on track to reach No.1 on Billboard’s 200, which will be his first No.1 album in the US. If anyone pips Adele to the post, it would have to be Bowie. His legacy lives on.
The 27-year-old launched her career with two worldwide successes, albums 19 and 21, named after her age. Her next global chart-topper was Skyfall written for James Bond, for which she received the movie songwriter’s Oscar and Adele’s newest release, album 25, has been yet another strong feat.
