The controversial former Two and a Half Men star is expected to make a formal announcement about his condition on the Today show in the US.
But that’s old news to his ex Denise, who says both her and her two children with Charlie, daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, are fit and healthy, according to People magazine.
“He was infected after they divorced [in 2006], and they haven’t been intimate since. Neither she nor their daughters are HIV-postive.”
Other reports say it was Charlie’s more recent former wife Brooke Mueller who got the biggest shock at hearing the news a few months ago.
Charlie, 50, and Brooke, 38, were married in May, 2008, and their sons, twins Bob and Max, were born later that year.
After a tumultuous relationship – Charlie was arrested in 2009 for assaulting Brooke – they filed for divorce in 2010.
“I had a drug-induced psychotic break at Charlie’s after doing drugs with Charlie for that many days,” said Brooke, who had the twins taken off her by Family Services in 2013.
“I couldn’t handle the HIV news. Just six months ago I was diagnosed with the eye disease and then Charlie potentially giving me HIV.
“I started doing heavy drugs with Charlie, staying up for days and it made my brain misfire.”
Brooke says she’s now “clean” and there is no suggestion that either she or her twins have been infected.
Meanwhile, another report claims that Charlie has been taking “meds” for the HIV and has had a series of blood tests, and over time, the virus has been “undetectable” in his system.
But others say the promiscuous star’s confession this week will also open him up to a barrage of litigation.
“You exposed me to HIV for a year and a half!” curses his ex-fiance and adult film star Scottine Ross, who was supposedly never informed of his condition.
