Contestant Clues For I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

The final line-up for the chosen dozen to enter the South African jungle on January 31 has been a closely guarded secret for months.

But now producers have released revealing pointers to help you narrow down who will be swapping their cappuccinos and smartphones in a bid to win $100,000 for their chosen charity.

The clues are:

  • A female television icon who is a Silver Logie winner and a household name in over 20 countries
  • A world-class controversial comedian who has made Australia his home
  • A rugby league superstar who captained his team to a Grand Final victory
  • A champion sportswoman who is one of the world’s fittest females and holds a record that no male competitor has equalled
  • An international DJ who has had chart-topping singles in Australia and the US
  • An AFL legend who has created headlines on and off the field
  • A chart-topping television star who was also a 1990s household name
  • A theatrical lady who was a teenage movie star, a triple threat and now is a real lady
  • A Hollywood heart-throb star of television and film who came to our attention in a very different arena
  • A record-breaking pop star who has performed for the Queen.
  • A reality television star who has been unlucky in love
  • An international cricket megastar who is Australian

One of the above will also take over the @ImACelebrityAU Twitter account on January 27 to anonymously answer questions from the social media community.

The mystery celebrity – rugby league star Ian Roberts, cricketer Shane Warne and cabaret star Rhonda Burchmore are all rumoured to be taking part – will tweet live from their secret location in South Africa, where they are currently under lockdown.

English cricketer Freddie Flintoff, far right, won the first series in 2015.

They have no access to their mobile phone; this will be their only contact with the outside world before they enter the jungle.

Questions can be submitted now using the hashtag #CelebHeads, or you can also ask the celebrity live at 7.30pm (AEDT) on January 27.

While producers say this year challenges will be tougher, conditions harsher and food supplies scarcer for the new celebs, returning hosts Chris Brown and Julia Morris have added their own tests.

“We’ve banned the use of the word ‘journey’,” says Chris. “And pointy end of the competition’,” adds Julia. “And ‘at the end of the day’. Which day?”

“But the really exciting thing for us is when you talk to the bosses they keep rubbing their hands together and saying, ‘Just you wait until you see what we’ve got lined up,” says Chris.

The other new element this year is the addition of a companion show, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Now! co-hosted by comedian Joel Creasy, above, and Heather Maltman, from The Bachelor.
