Bumble Teams Up With The AFL For The Ultimate First Date

Billed as the ultimate first date, one Australian Bumble Date user will have the opportunity to choose someone they matched with on the app and take them to the 2018 AFL Grand Final.

Starting today, users from Australia can match with the “2018 AFL Grand Final” card for the chance to win the first date package of their dreams. The winning couple will receive back and forth flights to Melbourne, a delicious lunch at Nobu at Crown, car transfers to the game, drinks in the MCG Members Bar and two of the best seats in the event.

Considered to be the fastest growing dating app in the United States, it boasts over 40 million users international, that resulted in more than 650 million women-led first moves, and about a billion messages sent.

With over a million downloads to date, Australia is one of the biggest and fastest growing regions.

According to Michelle Battersby, the head of the famous app in Australia,

“At Bumble, we have been huge fans of the AFL for some time and admire their commitment to increasing opportunities for women in sport. We’re excited to begin our partnership by offering our users the incredible opportunity to attend the 2018 AFL Grand Final and look forward to our two organisations working together further in the future.”

Entrepreneur Whitney Wolfe-Herd founded the business to make a change in how people communicate and build respectful relationships. Bumble is the first of its kind to combine dating, friend-finding, and career-building in a single platform through Bumble Date, Bumble BFF, and Bumble Bizz.

This application empowers women to promote equality and eliminate negative concepts such as gender bias, economic inequality, harassment, sexual assault and hate speech. It puts women in power of the conversation–they always make the first move.

The chance to win the ultimate first date is open to entries nationally and starts on 27 August 2018. It will end on 10 September 2018, announcing the winner two days after.
