Breakthrough for Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s Husband

The popular TV presenter has uploaded a picture on Instagram of the pair beaming at the camera, captioning it, “A quick trip back home to test out ramps and all that fun. Cannot wait to have John home again, only a couple more months to go.”

It’s been an incredibly tough few months for Kerri-Anne and her family.

The Aussie icon has been supporting her husband John through intensive recovery after he was left critically injured following a horror balcony fall in mid-March.

She’s barely left the 75-year-old’s side in the intensive care unit since he was airlifted to Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital from Bonville Golf Resort near Coffs Harbour.

John was put in an induced coma after breaking his neck and sustaining spinal cord damage in the fall. He’s had to undergo operations and intensive rehabilitation ever since — all with Kerri-Anne’s support.

In April, the TV veteran told Seven’s Sunday Night of her husband’s heartbreaking accident, “My life as I knew it was over”.

Their life together will now take on a new kind of normal when John is finally able to return to his home, which has already been tweaked with access ramps to cater to his needs.

Meanwhile, Kerri-Anne says his recovery to this point is like a series of “minor miracles”.

In the July edition of The Australian Women’s Weekly, Kerri-Anne describes how John is now talking, eating solids and has regained movement in his legs.
