The 17-year-old winner of the last US series of Dancing With The Stars made the admission while chatting to E! News recently.

“Celebrity crush is Ruby Rose,” confirmed Bindi, who is in the US as a guest host of the new series of the hit dancing show.

“I was about to say I love the Dalai Lama but I don’t know if that’s really a crush, ’cause he’s just amazing,” she continued.

“I’d say the Dalai Lama for someone I look up to and then Ruby Rose for celebrity crush, ’cause she is just amazing.

“You look at Ruby Rose and you’re like, ‘Wow, she’s beautiful!’ And one of the sweetest people on Planet Earth,” she gushed.

Bindi and Ruby, 30, have previously shared their love for each other on Twitter – and even hung out together at the Irwin’s Australia Zoo back in 2014 when the Orange Is the New Black star was dating Phoebe Dahl.

Realising she was already sending social media into a meltdown with those comments, Bindi quickly countered by adding that she feels like the luckiest girl in the world to have boyfriend Chandler Powell in her life.

“I’m really lucky. I have the best boyfriend,” she says. “Chandler is still with me, and we’ve been together quite a few years now, and I’m lucky.”

E! News also asked Bindi’s mum, Terri, how the late Steve Irwin would feel about his daughter’s relationship.

“I think because Chandler’s a nice person and really kind to Bindi that he’d be very happy,” Terri expressed.

“What’s kind of ironic is I was talking to Chandler’s mother, and he was an avid Crocodile Hunter fan when he was little.

“So he used to put on the big khaki shirt and go to school when he was in first grade and pretend to be Steve.”

In fact, his love for animals has continued as he’s gotten older.

“He always loves animals, and to this day, he rescues turtles off the road and that sort of thing,” Terri continued.

“If you have that consideration and empathy for all living things, you’re a pretty good person.”
