Indigenous Mother-Daughter Duo Have Their Artwork Showcased In Jurlique’s Mother’s Day Collection

Celebrating the very best of Mother Nature, this year Jurlique’s Mother’s Day gift selection is adorned with the artwork of mother and daughter duo Miimi & Jiinda. As Indigenous women, Lauren Jarrett and Melissa Greenwood create unique artworks that share their interpretations of Country, their personal stories and unique journeys. Their creations endeavour to uplift and inspire our senses and in honouring the exquisite beauty of feminine energy Jurlique are proud to partner with Aboriginal artists Lauren and Melissa.

Raised to always show the deepest respect to Elders, Miimi & Jiinda’s artworks reveal a deep understanding that everything is living and interconnected. Jurlique shares this view of the natural world and the sacred role of Mother Nature. And so, this Mother’s Day, Miimi and Jiinda’s Lowanna Dreaming adorns Jurlique’s gifting collections of best-selling and iconic products inspired by nature.

What does it mean to have your work showcased on Jurlique’s Limited Edition Mother’s Day range?

Melissa: It’s really such a special moment in time, I have been a fan of Jurlique since I was a little girl, and really admired their brand and products. It’s extremely important to us that they grow their own botanicals using organic and biodynamic farming methods, they hand plant and handpick all their botanicals here in Australia, farming in the most sustainable way possible.

Working with a brand that gives back to the land, to Miimi Maarral (Mother) Earth, represents our core values so well, so we were honoured to partner with Jurlique on this project.

What are the highlights of working together as a mother and daughter team?

Melissa: For both my Mum and I, art has helped heal past trauma and has really provided an outlet for us to share our deep connection to Country and to Culture and grow our bond as Mother and Daughter.

How will you both be celebrating Mother’s Day?

Melissa: We will be taking some time out to get a facial and have a nice lunch together.

What advice did your mother give you about taking care of your skin?

Melissa: Mum always encouraged us to just be proud of the skin we are in and remember it’s our biggest organ so to use natural products where possible.

Tell us more about your artwork and what gives you inspiration?

Melissa: Our artwork is contemporary and modern and portrays our daily journey as artists & First Nations women. The colours and patterns are inspired by our ancestral homelands, our dreaming and creation stories and our matriarchal lineage.

What are your favourite Jurlique products and why?

Melissa: The Nutri-Define Supreme Eye Contour Balm is the best one I have found so far; it’s so hydrating and luxurious.

Miimi & Jiinda for Jurlique Mother’s Day gifting collection is available at Jurlique stores and online, or in selected Myer & David Jones stores.
