But, never fear Mad Max die-hards, Englishman Tom Hardy (Inception) gets down and dirty as Max Rockantansky – the role that made Mel Gibson famous. Oscar-winner Charlize Theron stars as the rebel Imperator Furiosa while Nicholas Hault (About A Boy) and Zoe Kravitz (daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet) also take centre-stage. Models Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Abbey-Lee Kershaw add the necessary gritty-glam to the cast.

Our very own Megan Gale even has a cameo role in the epic thriller and while it’s yet to be announced exactly what part the Aussie beauty plays, no doubt she’ll be casting aside her normal glamorous style for a far tougher look for Mad Max 4. Megan wrote on Instagram recently “Just had a goosebump moment watching the new #madmaxfuryroad trailer”.

Naturally, part four of the iconic Australian series is again directed by the brilliant George Miller and was once again filmed in some of the most arid desert landscapes on the planet including various locations in Australia, Namibia and South Africa.

According to the film’s synopsis, it is “set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken and everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order. There’s Max, a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And (there’s) Furiosa, a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.”
