Who would ever want to hurt their pet? They’re cute, fluffy, loyal, and loveable, so it’s only natural that they get the best treatment possible on a daily basis right? Amazon Australia and RSPCA have teamed up to keep your furry friends happy and healthy.
There are more than 24 million pets in Australia, that’s about the same amount as there are people!
Both Amazon and the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) understand just how important it is for Australians to be able to “spoil and take extra special care” of their pets. The new category, Amazon Pet Supplies, will incorporate hundreds and thousands of products for pets, from household brands that Australians know and love.
The RSPCA’s consultation on the matter will help customers choose the best, and only the best products in light of raising awareness on the importance of “improving the welfare of all kinds of animals.” Choose from a selection of accessories, beds, grooming and travel products, toys, and of course, what all pets seem to never get enough of, food.
Part of the RSPCA’s initiative and long-term goal of “actively promoting the care and protection” of animals has been outlined in the launching of Amazon Pet Supplies where six pets from the RSPCA: Missy and Gipsy (cats), Henneth the chicken, Bosley and Bindi (dogs), and Geraldine the goat have been the faces of the campaign thus far.
The RSPCA strongly encourage adoption, and not only of these six animals but of the many more who are in need of a home. More information on adoption can be found on AdoptaPet.com.au.
On top of that, if you’re someone who takes millions of pictures of your pet because of how ridiculously photogenic they are (I don’t do that, I definitely don’t do that…who would?), Amazon has launched a competition that pet owners all across Australia can get involved in. In other words, your fluffy companion could be the next Face of Amazon Pets.
All you have to do is post a picture of you and your pet to Instagram and amazon.com.au‘s Facebook page with the #AmazonPetsAu; if you win, you’ll get the opportunity to do a professional photo shoot of you and your pet, not to mention a year’s supply of Hill’s Science Diet pet food. All details of the competition and more can be found on the Amazon Blog. So don’t just treat your pet like a star, make them look like one as well. Start shopping and start snapping!
