Inspiring Leaders Share Their Definition of A Game Changer

After five seasons of Game Changers, we’re just as inspired as the first time our series host Sarah Harris sat down on the couch with Australia’s leaders in their respective fields.

No matter what their area of expertise, there are so many rousing lessons to glean from the cream of the crop in business, arts and sports.

But exactly how to you define the meaning of a Game Changer?

Who better to ask than our latest inductees to this exclusive club – Naomi Simson, Maria Enna-Cocciolone, Janelle Gonzalez, Edit Whitelaw and Caroline Machado Campos.

“A Game Changer is someone who wants to see the world as a better place, and has confidence, says Naomi, entrepreneur, author and ‘Red Shark’ on the popular Ten series Shark Tank.

“It’s also someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously, but gets the job done.”

For Maria Enna-Cocciolone, founder and CEO of revolutionary skin-care range O Cosmedics, a Game Changer is someone with unshakable belief.

“They believe in themselves and believe in a dream, have courage, and don’t let anyone stand in their way of their direction and where they’re going, that’s a Game Changer,” says Maria.

You can watch her inspiring interview here with Sarah where she talks about how she went from humble beginnings to taking on the world with O Cosmedics.

“A Game Changer is someone who is always ahead of the curve, passionate, and isn’t afraid to trust their instincts and puts their hand up for a fun ride, adds Blue Toro boss Janelle Gonzalez.

Essentially Keto co-founder and CEO Edit Whitelaw believes a Game Changer is someone who defies the status quo.

“They have tenacity, care about change, and don’t care what anyone else thinks. They just go for it,” says Edit, who chats to Sarah about her inspiring story of how her weight-loss battle turned into a booming business idea.

As CEO of outdoor clothing and accessories empire Mountain Designs, Caroline Machado Campos knows all about scaling new heights – in the boardroom and beyond.

“A Game Changer is someone who isn’t afraid to take risks and enter the unknown,” adds Caroline, who reveals her company’s exciting new plans here.

“It’s someone who is fearless. Failure is not an option.”

Presenter: Sarah Harris is the presenter of Game Changers.com.au. She is also a mum of two, journalist and host of Network Ten’s show, Studio 10 and Shark Tank. It takes a special mix of sass and smarts to wrangle co-hosts (and media heavyweights) Kerrie Anne Kennerley and Joe Hildebrand in front of a live studio audience every day. Sarah has both in spades; not least because she spent more than a decade on the road as a reporter, covering some of the biggest stories around the world. Before moving to Network 10, she worked at Channel Nine as the network’s go to reporter: delivering extended live coverage from Victoria’s Black Saturday bushfires, the Christchurch earthquake and Queensland’s devastating floods in 2011.
