It is no secret that when I first heard about eBay I thought it was a junkyard. Due to this naïve miscalculation it probably cost me some fabulous shopping finds and no doubt cost me money.
Check my recent article The Verdict: eBay Trash or Treasure for more. As the buzz about eBay roared, I too discovered that not only was it a great place to find a preloved bargain but it sold more new and luxury branded products than secondhand items.
It became my shopping Go To marketplace for just about everything. Well, history seems to be repeating itself but I wont make the same mistake twice.
Let’s talk Gumtree!
Gumtree is renown as a “community marketplace” but don’t let that confuse you into thinking it is second-hand, junky goods only.
In fact, Gumtree has been undergoing the same image metamorphosis as eBay did back in the day. This is fabulous news for those who love tremendous value and choice.
Going from strength to strength
The beauty of these amazing online marketplaces is that they attract motivated business-savvy sellers. These proactive businesses love the opportunity to provide fabulous products and services at excellent prices.
Some are large companies with high profile brands and some are small home businesses dedicated to providing amazing service and unique product bundles. Naturally, the fabulous range of products is like catnip for savvy shoppers.
The latest location where shoppers are flocking for the best value is Gumtree.
Don’t expect Gumtree to be a carbon copy of eBay. It has some notable differences including the range of products and services it showcases.
Unique, really?
Some of the remarkable categories unique to Gumtree are services, trades, real estate and even employment. These services are cleverly listed featuring location suburb to engage the surrounding community.
When searching on Gumtree you have the choice of how far and wide you choose to look for that fabulous item or service provider – from 0kms up to 500kms.
As an eager shopaholic, when I first logged on to Gumtree I went straight to the fashion categories; clothes, shoes, perfume, makeup, skincare all of my favourite brands. I instantly found myself a shiny new bottle of Chanel Gardenia.
Great deals on cars have been the buzz of late. I have had many friends talking about Gumtree and saving thousands on car purchases.
One of my switched on business friends hires his staff from Gumtree and also rents his rental properties via the site. He is all but a Gumtree evangelist. It is the platform he starts with when shopping for items, staff, cars, gifts and hardware and garden goodies.
As a shopaholic and online seller I often have friends updating me on the latest and greatest in the online shopping world – Gumtree is certainly on everybody’s lips.
Needless to say this is absolutely my favourite part of online shopping – the amazing value for the shopper. I encourage you to add Gumtree to your favourite shopping platforms and take advantage of the sensational choice and value.
I will discuss next time how to snap up Luxe for Less using these wonderful shopping platforms.
