Black Friday is officially the largest shopping event in Australia. For the first time ever, it is set to overtake Boxing Day in 2021 with total sales estimated at more than $3.8 billion. There will be literally hundreds of thousands of deals available on the big day, covering every conceivable product category.

The sale officially begins at midnight on 26 November, but plenty of canny retailers have kicked things off early in a bid to get a head-start on the competition. This includes Amazon, eBay, The Good Guys, Bing Lee, Harvey Norman, Myer, David Jones, EB Games and most other major retailers.

Whether you’re after a shiny new piece of tech or some fresh summer threads, there’s no shortage of early-bird bargains to choose from. To save you time, we’ve highlighted 5 of the best pre-Black Friday deals and sales you can get right now. Happy shopping!

50% off Echo Show 5: The Echo Show is the perfect bedside table assistant. As a warm-up to Black Friday, Amazon is selling it for half-price – get it for just $59 instead of the usual RRP of $119.

At least 50% off fashion: Alongside tech, fashion is one of the hottest product categories during Black Friday with all major brands and retailers offering big discounts.

You can currently score up to 50% off sitewide at most of your favourite stores including Myer, PrettyLittleThing, Cotton On, ASOS, The Iconic, SHEIN, White Fox Boutique, boohoo, Nasty Gal and heaps more. Some brands are offering up to 80% off right now.

• Up to 70% off iPhones: Apple products are notoriously stubborn when it comes to price cuts, but there are some excellent Black Friday pre-sale offers if you know where to look. The Good Guys is currently offering 26% off the iPhone 12 Mini (128GB). If you don’t mind owning an older model, various retailers are selling pre-2020 iPhones for up to 70% off the original RRP. • 60% off select toys: If you have kids or know someone who does, Black Friday is a wonderful opportunity to sort your Christmas shopping on the cheap. Some early-bird deals that caught our eye include 51% off Monopoly Super Mario Celebration Edition at Amazon, 20% off LEGO sets at lego.com and a massive 70% off Everfit trampolines at eBay.

• Dirt-cheap appliances at Harvey Norman: Like most retailers, Harvey Norman isn’t waiting around for Black Friday to reveal its best deals. Some noteworthy offers you can shop right now include $300 off Theragun PRO Massage Guns, $500 off Philips 65-inch 805 Series 4K UHD TVs and Dyson Pure Cool Me Air Purifying Fans for $324.
