But unlike the winter show, where the garments are more forgiving, the models will be strutting their stuff with little to the imagination.

So for the last 4-6 weeks David Jones ambassador Jesinta Campbell has been on a strict regime of boxing, Pilates, strength training, infrared saunas and massages to ensure she looks her best.

“There are no magic tricks, unfortunately,” Jesinta tells news.com between workouts and rehearsals.

“Four weeks out from the show I started eating as clean as possible and cut out all alcohol — I don’t drink much anyway — and refined sugars.

“I also do a lot of boxing and a lot of Pilates. I might have a champagne to celebrate when the show’s over but can’t really let my hair down as I have to be up at 4am the next morning to get on a plane.”

Jestina will be joined on the New York-themed runway by supermodels Jessica Gomes and Gemma Ward, and Eliza Baker.

Tessa James and Nate Myles, Adam Goodes, Alyssa Sutherland, Rachael Griffiths and Anna Bamford will be among the VIPS in the front-row, but Jesinta says she only has eyes for fiance Buddy Franklin.

“He’s the only person I really want to look good for, so I do get a bit nervous knowing he’s watching.

“It is really nice to know he’s there to support me.”

Jesinta’s trainer Dan Adair tells Fairfax Media that he priorities form over heaviness of weights.

“Jesinta knows her role and how she has to look. We aim the training at how she needs to look. Long, lean and healthy. We don’t work for any bulk; we work to keep her muscles dense not big,” he said.

Adds Jesinta: “The biggest challenge with a lot of people’s fitness is they get really bored and just do the same thing over and over. It’s not dynamic enough.

“Everyone should be able to at least run five kilometres. Your joints are better, you get less aches and pains. Fitness is a holistic thing, it shouldn’t be something that you do every now and then.”

LA-based Jessica Gomes squeezes in as many facials as she can with her therapist, Melanie Grant, in the lead-up to the show.

Jessica, 30, says she approaches the launch how a bride would her wedding day, with plenty of healthy food, skin treatments and sleep, a challenge with so much international travel.
