Preventative breast and ovarian cancer charity Pink Hope has launched the Pinky Promise campaign to inspire and empower friends to get together and “make a Pinky Promise” to encourage and support their best friend when it comes to their health.
Taking the lead in raising awareness of the campaign, Rosie and Lily star on ELLE’s stunning cover as well as in a 12-page feature, shot on location at the Villa de Leon in Malibu by photographer Simon Upton.
Justine Cullen, editor-in-chief of ELLE Australia, says, “With breast and ovarian cancer both on the rise, it’s never been more important for women to look out for each other’s health.
“We were thrilled when Rosie and Lily said they wanted to get involved, and we hope all Australian women will be inspired to make their own Pinky Promise with their best friend.”
Rosie says one of the keys to her enduring friendship with Lily is that they rarely talk about work when they’re together.
“I think that’s what’s kept the friendship pure – keeping career out of it,” she tells the magazine.
Adds Lily: “Yeah, when we met we were just little baby models so you see each other go through things and congratulate each other, and if we don’t see each other for however long, it’s like we pick right up when we do see each other.”
“Those are my favourite kind of friendships – effortless and easy.”
