Is your life a pre-destined path written in the stars? Astrologer and Face Reader Dadhichi Toth has been predicting the future since he was just a boy – dreaming ‘death’ the night before someone passes, foreseeing world events and helping everyday people, like you and I, use astrology to gain a greater understanding of ourselves through our past, present and future events. His accuracy, approach and personable style has made him sought after by all the big players – from politicians to corporate clients. He’s appeared on TV, written for The Australian Women’s Weekly, New Idea, and now The Carousel, and is founder of astrology.com.au.
Here, Dadhichi shares his journey, wisdom and astro-advice…
Q. How did you become an astrologer and face reader?
“My mother was always big on astrology and used to read Linda Goodman’s Sun signs to me as bedtime stories. I naturally grew up believing in astrology.”
Q. What psychic gifts did your mother and father have?
“My father was a Hungarian Gypsy and was very talented in palmistry and astrology. My mother also had psychic gifts which seem to run in the family – she was born in Malta. I wasn’t all that interested in astrology as a boy. I grew up playing music but this also in some ways helped develop my intuitive self.”
Q. What other gifts do you have?
“I’ve studied and practiced astrology, numerology and some palmistry for over 30 years. In that time I have done over 10,000 readings. Taking initiation in India and studying Hindu philosophy has also given me an ability to draw upon my intuitive insights and this has helped me to accurately predict things. I also have a natural ability to dream things about people correctly before they happen, usually the very night before. Unfortunately as was the case with my mother, and her mother, these dreams often relate to the death of the individuals in question.”
Q. What astrology have you studied?
“I studied astrology, and in particular Hindu Vedic astrology, which is a specialised branch dating back several thousand years. I’m particularly interested in horary astrology which gives answers to questions posed at any given moment.”
Q. Tell us about your astral travels…
“I’ve been fortunate to meet many genuine teachers in India, some who have taught me the art of transcending normal lines of communication. My current mentor has been instructing me since 1995 and on several occasions has done so in out of the body experiences. He has mainly initiated me into the discipline of mantra or the repetition of sacred sounds to stimulate different energies within the body and the mind.”
Q. Do you believe we each have a destiny to fulfil – and our fate is mapped out?
“As a great teacher once said: ‘Try as hard as you will to achieve something in your life, if it is not your destiny, it will never happen. On the other hand, you can do your best to stop something happening but if it is your destiny, there’s nothing you can do to avoid it’.”
Q. How can astrology help – or hinder – our daily lives?
“Astrology’s primary function is to help us become more self-aware. In that process we come to understand our place in relationships and the world and how we can better adjust ourselves by knowing the truth of our life. This is the main reason we also wish to know what is going to happen. Through the study of transits and other astrological cycles we can indeed know beforehand what is going to happen. This is no different to predicting the incoming and outgoing tides through an understanding of the solar and lunar cycles. There are of course many other planets and they too have cycles which affect us.”
Q. What do you aim to do with astrology and face reading for your clients?
“Self-understanding and self-empowerment is the aim of any psychological endeavour. Astrology goes a step further in that it can actually contextualise your current circumstances in terms of your past and future and can advise accordingly even in terms of karmic past life patterns etc. The astrology that I do is also remedial so that I am able to help others by countering the negative influences of planets and to enhance the good ones to different occult measures.”
Q. What are some of the biggest predictions you’ve made?
“There are newspaper accounts of some of my predictions for the Queen, political leaders being assassinated, earthquakes, and so forth. The biggest predictions are the least sensational – that is, helping the everyday person who comes to me to understand where their life is going, how to adjust and use the destined events to their best advantage.”
Q. What does your work with politicians, diplomats and corporate clients involve?
“Politicians, diplomats and corporate executives are after all simply human, and they too have their desires and problems in life so astrology assists them in the same way it assists the average layperson. Politically, however, there are greater things at stake, en masse, and in terms of the decisions these politicians make and have a vastly broader impact on the populous. The astrologer’s job in dealing with these sorts of questions is a little trickier. Same goes for corporate clients who wish to have information on groups of people within their employ. Sometimes conflicts of interest occur when the astrologer has to be mindful that saying one thing to someone may incur a disadvantage or a problem to another person. The astrologer has to in many ways be as diplomatic as the diplomat.”
Q. You have an illustrious career, appearing on TV and writing for Australian Women’s Weekly, New Idea and now The Carousel. What’s been the highlight of this?
“Each and every opportunity to share one’s own understanding is a highlight. Each is characterised by a different audience and need as in the case of politician versus the little lady next door. But each is as fascinating and enjoyable as the next.”
Q. What advice would you give to people wanting to get their astrology chart done?
“My main advice is that you should never use astrology like a crutch because then it simply becomes an addictive ‘drug’ with you simply being the victim of everything that happens to you. The purposes of astrology is to empower you with insight and an acceptance that your life is ultimately for your greater good. Even if there are difficult times, trying relationships and hardships, astrology gives you the insight to use these difficult circumstances just as a clever gardener uses his cow manure to grow beautiful and fragrant flowers.”
