Amy Pejkovic’s Top Workout Tips To Keep You Fit And Healthy Like A Pro

Plan your workouts ahead: I hate the feeling of not training daily. It puts me in a good mood and it clears my head so I always make it a priority by scheduling my workouts on Sunday for the week ahead. I also treat them like a meeting – which means no cancelling!

Picture your goal every single day: I have 1.9 metres and 2.10 metres measured on my bedroom wall and it reminds me of what I’m working towards when I train. I try only focus on one goal at a time to ensure I’m 100% focused.

Getting enough sleep: Sleep is such an important part of health and fitness. I often have long days training in the morning, shooting during the day and then training again at night and it can take a serious toll on your body. I try to take 20minute power naps during the day so I can recharge and always prioritise getting a good sleep to recover.

Eat to nourish yourself: As an athlete, it’s important I fuel my body with the right food. I’m not about calorie control or food measurements. It’s about moderation, eating fresh produce and of course protein. I try to have it every meal. I also love quinoa, cauliflower, sweet potato and broccoli in my salads. That’s not to say I don’t also have a weakness for chocolate and pasta but all in moderation.

Wearing the right active wear: There’s nothing worse than being uncomfortable when you’re trying to put in a hard session. I like to invest in quality active wear and am loving Champion’s new season Absolute Sports Bra and the Fusion Tights – when you look good you feel good!

Finding a balance: For me training always comes first, work comes second and everything else just fits in between! I try to keep Saturday afternoons and Sundays free to do what I want for me! It’s important to strike a balance and take time out to enjoy time with friends and family.
