Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney thinks that we have lost touch with how food makes it’s way onto our plates. In this four part documentary,  we take a look at the history of food, it’s preparation and what it means to us as humans. This is shown through incredibly beautiful cinematography. The series encourages us to form a deeper connection with ingredients and the process of cooking food.

SOMM is a comical but emotional journey of four sommeliers that embark on an intense and intimidating course of study for the prestigious (and nearly impossible to pass) Master Sommelier exam.

Since the exam was created almost 40 years ago, only around 200 candidates have reached the Master level. The exam covers in absolute detail all aspects of wine. To pass the exam they need to put their social lives and love lives on hold and their sanity to the test.  The Huffington Post have said this film is “funny, sad and inspirational” and that it’s also a must see.

Millie Constable: Millie Constable is an avid traveller, photographer, foodie and writer.
